in Economic Impact
Across the United States, MobileServe users are creating a profound and measurable impact on their communities. By tracking and showcasing the good they do, these individuals and organizations are making service not just an act of generosity but a powerful tool for community transformation. Together, they have logged over 12 million hours of service, which translates into an astonishing $317 million in economic value. This impact goes far beyond numbers—it represents meals served, shelters built, students mentored, and countless other acts of kindness that strengthen the fabric of our society. Through MobileServe, these efforts are being recorded and celebrated, shining a spotlight on the vital role of volunteerism in building stronger, more resilient communities. Our platform empowers users to see the tangible outcomes of their service, inspiring them to continue driving positive change and encouraging others to join them in making a lasting difference.
About MobileServe
Why We Exist
We believe that when volunteers share their experiences, the desire to make a difference spreads to those around them. So MobileServe exists to help volunteers and organizations share stories that are authentic and accessible, and to connect people with organizations, causes, and each other, so that single acts of service can inspire an entire culture of doing more good.
How it All Began (Hint: We were just like you)
The idea for MobileServe was born on a volunteer service trip in 2011. Ben Reno-Weber, then CEO of the Kentucky YMCA Youth Center, and Christopher Head, one of the volunteers on the trip, were sharing their frustrations with the difficulty of communicating the impact of student volunteers. Ben wanted a way to celebrate all the amazing things volunteers from his organization were doing (and assigning a dollar figure to that wouldn’t hurt either). Chris wanted a way to share his lifelong love of service work and to get more of his friends to participate. Both wanted something mobile, easy to use, and that didn’t look like it was built in the 90s. When they couldn’t find a solution, they decided to build one.
Who We Are.
Chris Head

After spending more than a decade in various IT roles at Yum! Brands, he traded the office for a hostel and travelled the world for a year. Unsure of what direction to take professionally after such a mind-opening experience, he got bitten by the startup bug and spent three years as Director of Development for a Medtech startup based out of Chicago. He comes to MobileServe with a passion for technology and service and volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and the Civic Data Alliance.
